Betty I. Moore, 96, of Scranton, died Thursday night at Abington Manor. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Moore, in 2016.
Born in Ephrata, PA, daughter of the late A. Earl and Elsie Bickhart Weaver, she was a graduate of Ephrata High School and was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Scranton. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, playing cards with friends, and going to the casino with her late husband.
Surviving is her daughter-in-law Kathleen Moore, wife of the late Bruce T. Moore, of Scranton; her beloved grandchildren, Cheri Remmert and significant other, Mike Shaull, Christopher Moore and wife Jay, Laura Moore, Shannon Kunard and husband Robert, and Mary Beth Moore Robinson; cherished great-grandchildren, Emily Robinson and fiancé Seamus Gerrity, Natalie Robinson, Christina and Sean Moore, Lamar Cavins, and Annaleigh and Charlotte Kunard; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by her sons, John E. and his wife Susan, and Bruce T. Moore; her sister, Flurrie Fryberger; stepbrother Carl Haldenman; and her dog, Bandit, who passed in February.
The family would like to thank all of Betty’s neighbors for their help and support over the years during her times of need.
The funeral will be Tuesday with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Ave., Scranton. Entombment to follow in Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst Township.
Family and friends may pay their respects at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of mass.
