Catherine V. Hardos, 92, of Dunmore, passed peacefully Friday afternoon at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Robert Hardos, who died in 2016. They had been married for 65 years.
Born in Dunmore, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Julia Benginia Constable, was a lifelong member of SS. Anthony & Rocco Parish and was a graduate of Dunmore High School class of 1947.
Catherine worked as a beautician and owner at Kay's Beauty Shop for 40 years and was a crossing guard for Dunmore School District for many years. She loved cooking and baking for family and friends and especially the Dunmore police and fire departments, and Hospice of the Sacred Heart.
Catherine is survived by two sons, Robert Hardos and his wife, Debbie, Sunset Beach, N.C.; and George Hardos and his wife, Nancy, Waldorf, Md.; four grandchildren, Stephen Hardos and his wife, Jennifer; Bradley Hardos and his fiancée, Kalie Walrath; Christine Hardos Yulich and her husband, James; Tracey Krum and her husband, Aaron; two great-grandchildren, Lochlan Krum and Henry Hardos; a sister, Caroline Portell, Florida; brother, Louis Constable and his wife, Louise, Dunmore; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Constable.
The funeral will be Wednesday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith Street, Dunmore. Interment will follow in the Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
Friends may call Tuesday from 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 William St., Dunmore.
