Born in the Green Ridge section of Scranton, John lived in Scranton and Dunmore for most of his life.  He was the son of the late Joseph and Rose Strubeck Langan.  He graduated from Dunmore High School in 1963, and after serving in the United States Army for several years, he returned to Scranton.  John worked at Burschel Dairy and remained a member of the Central PA teamsters.  He also worked at Tobyhanna Army Depot for over 30 years. Along with his parents and grandparents, John was also preceded in death by his loving wife of over 30 years, Judy Moss Langan; brothers Joseph, Paul, Robert, Jackie, Thomas, and Gerald Langan; and sister Helen Langan Casey.

His family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Kenneth Tomczyk, Diane Trager and their team at Geisinger 65 Forward for their care and support over the years, as well as the caring staff at Glenmaura Senior Living Residences in Moosic, his caregiver, Adrianna Schwartz, Home Instead Home Healthcare in Clarks Summit, Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore, and the doctors, nurses and staff at Geisinger Community Medical Center.

He is survived by his daughter, Jenifer Toussant, and three grandchildren, Isis Rose, Nola Judith, and Eko Orion.  He is also survived by his devotes sisters, Rose Langan Dowgiallo, and Debbie Langan; nieces and nephews, cousins, and his longtime friends Mari Carroll and John Healey.
