Rosemary A. Gregory Cali

Rosemary A. Gregory Cali, 93, of Dunmore, passed away Tuesday morning at the Dunmore Health Care Center.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony J. Cali, on January 21, 2022.

Born in Dunmore, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Rose Nicolais Gregory and a graduate of Dunmore High School, Class of 1946.  She was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish in Dunmore.

Rosemary will be remembered as a compassionate, selfless, hardworking, and intelligent woman.  In her teens, she attained an excellent work ethic at Spotless Cleaners, the family business.  Additionally, Rosemary was employed at Modelrite Dress Factory in Dunmore.  With absolute perfection, she also sewed and mended endless items, including lovely dresses for her daughter and granddaughters.  As a co-owner at Cal-Ideas in Dunmore, Rosemary’s creativity blossomed as she spent many years designing the storefront window and assisting Roch in all facets of the business. 

She also expressed herself artistically by crafting and gifting beautiful handmade gifts.  She had a talent for creating precious treasures.  Rosemary’s passion for music began in high school as an alto in the Schubert Club.  She was a loyal member of the Dunmore Community Chorus and SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish Choir.  In 65 years of raising her sweet voice in song, Rosemary cultivated many lifelong friendships.

Rosemary loved the simple things in life. She took great pleasure in cooking and baking for her family while displaying her endless energy and unwavering love.  She was the epitome of a selfless wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, caring for her family always with a beautiful smile. 

Most importantly, Rosemary was a loving wife to Anthony for 71 years.  They were truly best friends and shared an amazing life together.  Their marriage was a true love story.  We would like to thank the staff at Dunmore Health Care Center, especially Heather Samuels, for the kindness and loving care they gave to Rosemary for 6 years. 

Surviving is a daughter, Marisa Scott and husband Richard, Dunmore. Sons, Frank and wife Michele and Anthony, all of Dunmore and Dr. Gregory and wife Celeste, Dalton; grandchildren, Nicholas Cali and wife Emily, Carina Antonucci and husband Joshua, Adrienne Magners and husband Douglas, Jason Cali and wife Sara, Dean Cali and wife Caitlin, Matthew Scott and wife Sara, Jonathan Cali and wife Daniela, Lauren Mrykalo and husband Christopher, Christopher Cali and wife Meghan, Douglas Scott and wife Annie; great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Eliza, Julia, Piper, Liam, Josephine, Elizabeth, Macklin, Hadley, Camden, August, and Emmeline; a sister, Carmella Donato of Dunmore; and many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by brothers James, John, and Ernest Gregory. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith St., Dunmore.

Family and friends may call Friday morning from 9-10:30 a.m. in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore.
